Changing the world, one community at a time.

About Us

The Terrapin Foundation, Inc. is a grassroots, Connecticut based, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. The Foundation is dedicated to stimulating financial and inspirational support to encourage the Arts, enrich our communities, and preserve natural resources. In its efforts to achieve these goals, The Foundation raises funds through donations and the production of cultural, artistic and musical events. The Terrapin Foundation believes that through the Arts we can nurture the communities in which we live and thus change the world one community at a time.

Wendy Gniady – President

Wendy is very excited to lead the charge for new growth at the Terrapin Foundation since taking on her new position as President in late June 2013.  Along with the team of officers and board members, and the community’s support, she looks forward to bringing the organization to its next level in 2014.

Having been given a philanthropist’s heart by nature, Wendy has always enjoyed involvement in working to improve the lives of others.  Working for many years in healthcare insurance, she assisted members with denials of appeals and represented them in their quest for coverage of needed medical services.  Prior to that she worked in the medical field in neighborhood health clinic providing medical services and a listening ear to an underserved community.

Her fundraising background includes several consecutive years of fundraising for the American Diabetes Association and most recently she took on a fundraising campaign for Yale New Haven’s Smilow Cancer Center, which she plans to continue annually.

Wendy currently volunteers for two local animal rescue organization and resides in Hamden, CT with her husband and two pit bulls.

Stephanie Blatt – Treasurer

Throughout her young life, service and volunteerism was encouraged by Stephanie’s parents until it became inherent. She would accompany them on various volunteer activities at local mission pantries, clean-up days for the city parks, and visiting the elderly in the neighborhood around holidays. During college, Stephanie volunteered with Young Life, a non-demoniational outreach to high school kids, and in more recent years, designed an “investment club” style finance course for 7th & 8th grade girls at The East Harlem School in NYC, supported by Morgan Stanley.
