The Terrapin Foundation, Inc. is a grassroots, Connecticut based, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. The Foundation is dedicated to stimulating financial and inspirational support to encourage the Arts, enrich our communities, and preserve natural resources. In its efforts to achieve these goals, The Foundation raises funds through donations and the production of cultural, artistic and musical events. The Terrapin Foundation believes that through the Arts we can nurture the communities in which we live and thus change the world one community at a time.

Wendy is very excited to lead the charge for new growth at the Terrapin Foundation since taking on her new position as President in late June 2013. Along with the team of officers and board members, and the community’s support, she looks forward to bringing the organization to its next level in 2014.
Having been given a philanthropist’s heart by nature, Wendy has always enjoyed involvement in working to improve the lives of others. Working for many years in healthcare insurance, she assisted members with denials of appeals and represented them in their quest for coverage of needed medical services. Prior to that she worked in the medical field in neighborhood health clinic providing medical services and a listening ear to an underserved community.
Her fundraising background includes several consecutive years of fundraising for the American Diabetes Association and most recently she took on a fundraising campaign for Yale New Haven’s Smilow Cancer Center, which she plans to continue annually.
Wendy currently volunteers for two local animal rescue organization and resides in Hamden, CT with her husband and two pit bulls.
Stephanie Blatt – Treasurer
Throughout her young life, service and volunteerism was encouraged by Stephanie’s parents until it became inherent. She would accompany them on various volunteer activities at local mission pantries, clean-up days for the city parks, and visiting the elderly in the neighborhood around holidays. During college, Stephanie volunteered with Young Life, a non-demoniational outreach to high school kids, and in more recent years, designed an “investment club” style finance course for 7th & 8th grade girls at The East Harlem School in NYC, supported by Morgan Stanley. The Terrapin Foundation provides an exciting opportunity to partner with and support a variety of non-profit organizations both here in Bridgeport and throughout our global community at large.
Stephen Boccarossa – Board Member
Stephen F. Boccarossa is a well-known insurance advisor located in Fairfield, CT. Since 1993, he has counseled and insured hundreds of families throughout Fairfield County.
Before establishing Boccarossa Insurance, LLC in 2001, Stephen started his career working at his father’s family-owned insurance company in Norwalk, CT. He is licensed in property, casualty, life, and health insurance. Stephen and his staff at Boccarossa Insurance, LLC specialize in personal and commercial lines products, as well as financial insurance products.
Stephen graduated from Wilton High School, and subsequently earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Connecticut.
Stephen resides in Fairfield with his wife, Sarah, also a skillful insurance advisor, and sons Zachary and Vincent. He is an active member and catechist at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Fairfield, and is a committed leader with his local Cub Scout and Boy Scout troops.
Stephen’s interests include music, fishing, biking, and spending time with his family at the beach.
Robert Van Loan – Board Member
Robert is a long time resident of Connecticut currently residing in Fairfield. With his wife and two sons and is the owner of R. Van Loan Custom Framing in Greenwich CT. Robert is proud to be on the Board of the Terrapin Foundation and believes in the causes the foundation supports. He is committed to philanthropy and supports many non-profits including Kids in Crisis, Breast Cancer Alliance, Red Ribbon Foundation, China Care, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, among others.
Robert is excited about the continued growth and direction of the Terrapin Foundation and looks forwards to serving it in the years to come.
Rob Wolter – Board Member
Rob Wolter has been a Terrapin Foundation Board Member since 2009. Rob is currently President of Veto Pro Pac, a successful consumer products company, where he leads all aspects of the business including sales, finance and operations. He has won numerous awards for new product introductions and product packaging, and he also holds several patents. With over 15 years of experience building and running startup businesses, Rob brings a wealth of strategic operational and marketing expertise to the Terrapin Foundation. Prior to joining the Terrapin Foundation, Rob served as Finance Chair of the Fairfield County Chapter of the Young Entrepreneurs’ Organization (YEO) and on the Board of Directors for the Lawn and Garden Manufacturers and Distributors Association.
Rob lives in Westport, CT with his wife Jen and three children. He holds a BS with honors from University of New Hampshire’s Whittemore School of Business. He enjoys music, gardening, fly-fishing and spending time with his family.
